Craigslist heroes

mammatries started this conversation

I was thinking just a few seconds ago as I keep pondering on the idea on the fact that my family has went to long not having a vehicle. You can read my blog on my mammatries page for reference. So I am sitting here and there it is craigslist at the tip of my fingers. I am looking seeing what's avaliable and there are some good used cars there. I see some of them need some work, some don't and then there are some posters who are scammers.

What should happen is that we can have  craiglist heros. There are people on here who would benefit from this act of kindness. If a billionare,a millionare or whatever could do this it would end alot of mine and these peoples agony. Not having reliable transportation creates deeper poverty. There should be craiglist heros to help someone get a better start for the rest of their life. Surely someone can negotiate deals with the sellers, especially when they are doing this to help a less fortunate person. Then there should be a volunteer local law enforcer who can verify seller is not a scammer. In addition being a car insurance hero would be awesome too,not saying for long term. But for the year,6 months,3...help a family get on their feet.

I am seeing cheap used cars and trucks and vans. Hint to the wel off or those in a better position....thank God for what you have. There are people like me who actually cry because of being deprived. When you have kids and haven't taken them to the zoo,to a carnival, skating or anywher in 4 years. You'd know how heartbreaking it is. When you have no way to get to the doctors appointment,or get your kids milk and bread when you need,or one day your child is sick and needs you to come and you can't cause you don't have a car. It really hurts. For myself and others craigslist heros would be awesome.

God bless,

in response to sick of all the nonsense...   people like you are the ones we hate to wait when you walk into stores. let me guess you who have money sit on your butt all day at your nice air condition/heated job then you go home clean your house take care of the yard work do laundry, probably not people with money have house cleaners ,lawn maintance, dry cleaning, groomers for your dogs or cats while i give them kudos and i am happy they have that but can't stand the ones who look down their nose at the people who make their life easier i work my butt off everyday go to work sick or not i pay my bills sometimes things happen and hit to close together where people that do have alot of money cant recoup before the next pile of crap hits the fan after you've exhausted every other avenue sometimes even though it makes you feel lower than dirt you have to ask for help and if you dont like a website here is a clue dont look at it

in response to sick of all the nonsense...   There are those out there whom have knowledge of benifits that are there to lend a helping hand people whom have been homeless or in a life changing situation beyond controll can use a hand to get to the right resorces, which are often not a handout, such as work programs and education to make them back to productivity in society .I thank God that I have been blessed to have been homeless and recover so that I can see both points of view.May God watch over you as well.Do on to other as you would wish others to do onto you... its a good virtue.

in response to sick of all the nonsense...   Wow! the nonsense makes no sense to people with few dollars and cents. What's wrong with America? Or wherever you've come from. Your so out of touch with the real world,so out of touch with real people.
Fact is there's nothing wrong with helping someone less fortunate. It doesn't mean they expect you too or won't do for themselves. For some they need a leg up.
What is wrong with helping out with things that can help a family to self-sufficiency? The transportation issue is a big obstacle for many.
I think mammatries idea is fantastic!!!!!!!
This is conceived from the mind of a mother who has struggled far too long. A person that maybe less fortunate but rich in spirit.
I don't know why people like you turn a blind eye to real people. Sites like this reflects what is really going on in America. There are people who are hungry right now and you mean to tell me that you and your associates couldn't or just wouldn't give a darn about it?
Shame on you for the devil clearly has your soul. That is your explanation for being so heartless.

http://www.freecharitycars.org/LadyAlex/  --- www.freecharitycars.org --- This is a FREE website where you can make a wish of sorts for a vehicle, repairs, etc. Basically, you tell your story, people vote for you, & one day you might get awarded a free charity car! I have real friends on this site who have indeed been awarded cars. Now of course not everyone will get a car; it just depends on your situation & how you tell it. I found out about it thru this site, & sure I was hesitant, but then I figured, what the heck, I had nothing to lose. I've been on the site for a few months, I get lots of votes daily, but no, I've not been awarded a car yet. It's a huge unknown, maybe I get one, maybe I don't. But again, I've nothing to lose, so why not? It's like a site for Car Heroes & Car Seekers. I'd only get like 5 votes if you sign up & tell them I sent you (LadyAlex) http://www.freecharitycars.org/LadyAlex/ --- so I don't really benefit point-wise. I need a car just as bad as anyone, & I feel for anyone that has to go thru even remotely anything similar as me. My Mom & I are both disabled & have no way 2 get around with our powerchairs. I really hope I might be helping in some way by offering this info to anyone at all whose interested. God bless & good luck!

in response to sick of all the nonsense...   In response, my husband on Oct. 30, 2008, had a 5 bypass surgery.  He is now partially blind from complications and cannot go back to work.   I was working a 40 hr job but got laid off on July 14.  I am collecting but it isn't enough esp with my husband on a  FIXED INCOME.  We are behind on car payments, have medical bills.  THIS IS NOT OUR FAULT.  By the way,  my husband had to go in for a second surgery the same day and his HEART STOPPED FOR 10 MINUTES.   I am blessed that GOD did not let him die but LIVE to give his testimony to others and he has.  I am also grateful.  My problem is the money, true but I know that somehow GOD will provide.  This is a 2nd marriage for both of us and his kids are not help me care for him at all.  I AM THE ONLY 24/7 CARE-GIVER and have put of with a lot of stuff from his kids and yes I am tired of it.  Thank you for reading this and have a BLESSED DAY.

I never replyed to anyone on this site before, but for the first time I am going to say a few words to you Mr. or Ms. nonsence.  My account name is xcy_g and when I came upon this website I felt very uneasy to just come out and ask for a hand out, so I didn't.  Instead I gave my gift of experinces throughout my life and shared with many other beautiful, sad, hard, misfortunate, and challanging stories.  I can't began to tell you how great! A shared peice of one of God's creatures is so amazing, to actually pay attention to.  Whether nonsence or not, you can intake it anyway your mind wants and either use it as an asset towards your future life situations or maybe it just touched you so much, because you felt you had such a blessed life, that you may want to share some of that gift w/others.  What ever it is that you feel towards (us).  I can only pray that you may never have to experince mentally, financially, and physically the most mind challanging experinces in my opinion, to go through, because there will always be someone with more difficulties to deal with then you, but if your not prepared to become face to face with them at the time, it happens.  You just may be that person who talks(All That Nonsence)!

Godbless to All!!!!

There are those who do expect a handout and feel entitled to have gifts bestowed upon them to make their lives easier without hard work and dedication. In fact, there are many of them.

But, for the most part, the people who post here are those who have dealt with a devastating illness, a major loss to their lives, or another type of catastrophe and they are completely unprepared - are any of us really ever prepared? Any one of us, at any given time can be in a similar position. Most are only one paycheck away from the street.

While the posters here cannot provide people with the basic necessities, they can, however, provide them with the information and resources to help them get back on their feet. Most have been in similar situations and have the experience to help guide them through the maze of red tape and the numerous sites.

Hard work and dedication is the ONLY thing that will win out in the end, but a guiding hand, can always help.

sick of all the nonsense

Why is it that people who are "less fortunate" ALWAYS expect those who "have money" to provide for THEM??? It's not OUR fault that other people are in the situations they find themselves in. Websites like this one really irritate me, because they just exacerbate the handout mentality that many Americans have these days. It's a lazy cop-out to post crap like this on websites, HOPING and EXPECTING that someone you don't know is going to fix your life by giving you things that YOU should be providing for yourselves!! What happened to hard work and smart choices in life?? It's just so much easier to e-beg and expect wealthy benefactors to bestow gifts on you...SICKENING.
